SMOKE AND MIRRORS

The US faces a debt default as we come within a week of butting up against the debt ceiling. So there is much debate now in Congress over whether we should raise the debt ceiling or respect the present ceiling and pull in our horns. There is much fanfare over the pros and cons of each choice as the two sides do battle.

But this is only a charade because everyone knows that Congress will approve raising the ceiling before the deadline. We are experiencing in America what the people in the old Soviet Union experienced under communism. The common saying of the day was, “we pretend to work and the government pretends to pay us.” Why change the facts if all you need to do is change the perception of truth. It is not necessary to have real democracy. It is not essential to have fiscal soundness. It is not required to have real prosperity – all that is necessary is the perception. As long as enough people believe we live in a democracy, then the powers that be can gain total control over society without push-back. The masters of the universe know they can restructure the world without a revolution because they know that people will not rebel as long as they believe they have freedom.

The perception is greater than the reality. As long as enough people believe in the perception of a free and open press, the freedom of speech, and the right of assembly, etc., then the masters of the universe can put society in bondage without fear of reprisal. The Coronavirus need not be more severe than the flu, all that is necessary is for people to believe the virus is more dangerous than the flu, and they will agree that the government can lock them up like common criminals. Do you think that all of this is temporary? It is not! The end goal is to eliminate private property, free speech, the freedom of the press, true democracy, the free enterprise system, and the Christian church. As Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum has often said, “You will own nothing and you will be happy.”
