MASS PSYCHOSIS

Authorities sentenced a woman in Australia to an internment camp where she was put in isolation just because she was 3 feet from a person who tested positive for the virus, even though she was negative. Consequently, she lost her job and is now unemployed. We are experiencing a psychological process, group hypnosis, that even politicians and policymakers have become victims. This psychological process transcends any evil intent or conspiracy theory because a lack of knowledge has blinded society to its intentions. This mass psychosis only happens under certain conditions, the primary one being a feeling of social isolation. According to a national survey published by the American Sociological Review, 25 percent of people surveyed reported that they did not have a single close friend. Seventy-five million adults aged 18 to 27 were lonelier than other U.S. demographic groups. Young people are not vulnerable when they interact online using avatars. They never experience real shared experiences with others; they never feel a part of a community.

Loneliness begets a feeling of a meaningless life. Most people lack a sense of importance in their jobs. A Gallup poll from 2012 interviewed people in 142 countries. The poll indicated that 63% of respondents admitted to being so disengaged at work that they were sleepwalking through the day. These people lacked passion, a feeling of self-worth. Loneliness begets a meaningless life, and an empty life begets psychological discontent. Social isolation leads to a free-floating disconnectedness from society. Pharmaceutical companies are eager to ply society with anti-depressants, antipsychotic drugs, and sleeping pills. The World Health Organization (WHO) claims that one in five people have anxiety disorders.

Mass psychosis occurs when the official narrative provides humanity with a strategy to deal with anxiety. A common enemy will make people feel connected again. This common threat makes possible a new kind of solidarity, a new social bond. Suddenly, life has meaning again. People will be eager to accept the official narrative and participate in the strategy to defeat the common threat, even if their actions are illogical. The policy’s correctness, the policy’s science, or whether the approach makes any sense has nothing to do with people’s willingness to accept the narrative. What is paramount is the new social bond, the new solidarity. Maximum connectedness leads to a new kind of mental intoxication to the point of collapsing the economy and ripping apart the social fabric. Like in hypnosis, most people are not aware of the consequences.
