First, we were given the COVID lock-downs which brought the economy to its knees, next we will get more mandates over climate change (whatever that is?) which will kill the patient (the economy). Greta Thunberg is a Swedish Joan of Arc for the climate movement as she leads children worldwide in a crusade to convince parents that they must fix the planet lest the world end before they are adults. The threat of global warming is an example of the Hegelian Dialectic in action: problem, reaction, solution. As a keynote speaker at the UN, she admonished members, “We are at the beginning of mass extinction, yet all you can talk about is money. You are failing us.” The United Nations encourages all nations to limit their carbon footprint and follow the Paris Agreement on Climate Change to achieve its sustainable development goals. Young people all over the world are being terrified of an impending dark future.
Now meet Dr. Patrick Michaels, the director of the Center for the Study of Sciences and a senior fellow in environmental studies at the Cato Institute. His Ph.D. thesis was on climate change, and he is a past president of the American Association of State Climatologists and chairman of the American Meteorological Society. He was a research professor of environmental sciences at the University of Virginia for 30 years, an author and reviewer of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. Dr. Michaels claims that government computer models make dramatic systematic errors. There are 32 families of computer models used by the United Nations, and they all predict too much global warming.
Meanwhile, the news does not report on Dr. Art Robinson winning the Voice of Reason Award at the 9th International Conference on Climate Change. He received 31,000 signatures by the world’s leading scientists, 9,000 of them with PhDs, on a document denying global warming as a problem. Dr. Robinson believes that the political left has hijacked the subject, and the news has ignored scientists. Despite the overwhelming evidence that global warming is not valid, the United Nations is hosting a climate change conference in Glasgow, Scotland (the birthplace of Adam Smith, the father of modern-day laissez-faire economics!). Hundreds of dignitaries are congregating to expose the evils of global warming and are proposing draconian measures on the respective nations. These measures will be the second punch that will shut down the world’s economy.
