Sweet Tooth is Netflix movie. The series is about a half-human and half-deer boy as he embarks on a perilous journey across a post-apocalyptic world with other hybrids of human-animal genetics. On the surface, this appears to be a science fiction story for young adults. But the message is timely and profound. In the movie, there was a global pandemic, a virus spread worldwide, and everyone was vaccinated. And then, after everyone was vaccinated, babies were born with different DNA corrupting God’s plan for a pure human genome.
The Pfizer and Moderna are not vaccines in the truest sense of the word. The medical-dictionary defines vaccines as “medicines that contain weakened or dead bacteria or viruses. When a person takes a vaccine, his or her immune system responds by producing antibodies—substances that weaken or destroy disease-causing organisms.” When a person contracts a disease, the body produces antibodies that help protect the person from getting the same condition in the future. A flu vaccine, for example, will mimic what the body would naturally do if one came down with the flu. Messenger RNA is different from routine vaccines. The Pfizer and Moderna mRNAs are the first mRNAs brought to market for human patients.
How close are we to hybrid animals, human-animal creatures? Chimeras are animals composed of cells that originate from two (or more) different species. We have entered an age where human-animal chimeras are beginning to pose serious moral questions. It is now legal for pharmaceutical companies to genetically engineer human-animal hybrids in the laboratory. In June of 2021, the US Senate voted down a bill prohibiting particular human-animal creatures from being genetically engineered. It permits the pharmaceutical companies to continue the practice of engineering human-animal chimeras.
